Children’s Hospital of Michigan Troy Specialty Center – Detroit Medical Center (DMC)

Troy, Michigan

Working with Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED), PEA prepared the site design for this 4-acre, 65,436 sf, 4-story new hospital to house specialty clinics, emergency, surgery and ancillary services.

The concept for this unique, $21 million dollar facility came from the children’s request to build something that would resemble Legos. The interior was designed by children, doctors and nurses. The walls contain artwork from students from several school districts in the area, which also adds a special touch to this high-profile project.

Specific civil design included site layout, grading, drainage design for an open detention basin, soil erosion and underground utilities for storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water main.
