Madison Heights, Michigan
PEA completed a design for site improvements for the Red Oaks nature park in Madison Heights. PEA collaborated with the park staff to develop a site analysis of the parking lot, building access and trail circulation.
After analyzing the daily use of the park, PEA developed a revised trail head layout to improve the safety of the park by re-routing trail access away from the roads and parking areas and creating one central trail head to serve visitors.
PEA also developed a parking lot concept that minimized disturbance to natural areas by more effectively utilizing an existing parking area, re-paving the site in a more efficient layout and providing better access from existing parking to the nature center building.
